In its mission to provide opportunities to American Indian businesses throughout the state, the American Indian Chamber announces the Northern Arizona Small Business Forum targeting American Indian owned businesses on Friday, September 29th.

The Forum will take place at the Moenkopi Legacy Inn & Suites hotel located in Tuba City, Arizona. The Legacy Inn is ideal for holding this type of event, say organizers.

Among those collaborating in organizing the event are the Northern Arizona University (NAU) Center for American Indian Economic Development (CAIED), the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED) Procurement Technical Asisstance Center (PTAC); the Grand Canyon Trust Native American Business Incubator Network (NABIN) American Indian Chamber Education Fund Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC); and the Dineh Chamber of Commerce.

The agenda will include an opening session with a keynote speaker starting at 8:30 a.m., two morning panels discussions: first on Contracting Opportunities, second on Financing Your Start-up Business; a luncheon with a keynote speaker with the subject on the current operation Navajo Generating Station; and the final session will be a procurement fair for American Indian-owned small businesses starting at 1:30 p.m. and ending at 3:30 p.m.

All American Indian businesses are invited to attend. Non-Indian owned businesses are also invited to attend to learn more about sub-contracting opportunities with the many Indian-owned businesses.

Registration cost for the event is $35 which covers the cost of the luncheon and hotel conference room and AV cost.

There will be a Cultural Night Reception on Thursday evening before the Friday Forum. Performances by cultural dancers and singers will take place in the ballroom. All tribal royalty are invited to attend and perform. Arts and crafts vendors are invited to the Thursday evening cultural reception. Please call Gwen Cody at 928-523-7320 or Jessica Stago at 928-774-7488 to sign up for a table. The cost is $20 for each 5-foot table provided by the hotel. One table per vendor please.

The Cultural Night Reception is open to the public. Tourist staying at the hotel and traveling from Monument Valley or Hopi land are invited to experience northern Arizona cultural richness.

Everyone is invited to the Forum.
