The Business Diversity Program award recognizes programs that directly contribute to the success of American Indian  businesses in the State of Arizona by providing significant opportunities and outreach targeted to the American Indian business community.

Tribal Department of the Year –
Casino Del Sol Resort and Conference Center (Tucson)

The Tribal Enterprise or Department of the Year award  recognizes tribal departments operated by tribal governments that demonstrate exceptional support and dedication to the growth and betterment of American Indian businesses and entrepreneurs who are operating and based in the State of Arizona.  Casino Del Sol Resort and Conference Center is owned and operated by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe in the Tucson area. The Casino del Sol Resort, Spa and Conference Center officially opened its doors on November 11, 2011 with a ribbon-cutting, poolside celebration with local dignitaries and live shows including fireworks and concerts. The resort, was a $130 million expansion of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe’s Casino del Sol at 5655 W. Valencia Road, Tucson. The Tucson area’s newest resort features a 215-room, 161,000-square-foot hotel and entertainment destination including more than 65,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and convention space.
